Time flys and so do I!

The 3rd day of Paige's visit flew by !
It will soon be time for her and Phil to go home!
That's OK with me, because the next time we see her, it will be because she is having her baby! Yahoo!
She went to breakfast with some high school friends - whew are we grateful for such good friends!
They understand each other and support each other through difficult times.
2 of the friends husbands are in medical school and one friends husband is already a lawyer.
They know what it is like to be dirt poor and alone a lot while the hubby is studying!
This day involved a lot of shopping for baby Nelsen and lots of eating for the Mamma!
Cute lamp and table from T J Max for the nursery.
(we spent hours in that store)
We also took the table and lamp to Babies R us, to see if it looked good with the chair she has bought!
also, onesies from Carters and visits to Target and Pier 1!
Memorial weekend is great for Sales!

Fabric from Heritage fabric to make a quilt!

We ate lunch at Good Wood Barbecue - one of the best places ever!
But after so much shopping, the girls had worked up an appetite and they
had a hot dog, and not just any hot dog - a Bahamma mamma!
from Maverick!

So as fast as the time was going - so was I - driving!
I was chatting away with Paige, in a hurry to get to Erin's house, and I
passed
a
Cop!
Dang, Dang, Dang! I was clocked at 14 over!
The lady officer asked for my license, registration and proof of insurance, then went back to the patrol car!
She was gone a long time - Paige said for sure your getting a ticket, she is has to be writing a ticket!
She came back with a WARNING and . . .

Two Chick-fil-A coupons for free sandwiches!
We both were wearing our seat belts.
This a promotion by the State of Utah to buckle up!
Our lucky day!
I wouldn't recommend speeding, but I would wear your seat belt!
We did end the night by playing groups & runs!

Funny Faces!

The 2nd day of Paige's visit, we went back to DATC the for facials and face waxing!
Facials are $20.00 for 1 hr. and it was heaven!
Then to Erin's house for hair cutting, dying and visiting!
It didn't end there, we went to Pizzeria and had their yummy salad and pizza. The boys were hitting a bucket of balls so we took our left overs and picked up a pizza for them at little Caesers. I am thinking that was kinda mean, we ate the best pizza in the world and they ate a $5.00 pizza. We ended up back at our house to play games, but it never happened. Instead they made funny faces.
Here are a few and I am sorry kids, they are just too funny!
Cooper & Paige

Erin & Cooper

Spencer & Morgan

And the winners - Erin & Derek!
Just gotta love the crazy adorable kids!
They are pretty darn cute & funny!
Love them!
(I know, I know, there will be payback for this)

Memorial day weekend - FIRE!!!!

Paige is home from Moscow for the weekend!
Yahoo!
We love when she comes to visit!
Phil, her hubby just finished his first year of law school, and he went to Las Vegas with his brother for a gun training.
He teaches a concealed weapons class!
Paige is 6 weeks away from having baby boy Nelsen, and the drive home is 10 hours, another 8 hr. drive to Las Vegas, would have done her in!
So far, there has been a pedicure,(she can't reach her toes) lunch at Pepperbellys with Morgan, seeing people she used to work with, shopping at Target which resulted in a purchase of a new quilt for her bed. I do believe she is starting to nest, she wants that sweet baby to be laying on a pretty clean new quilt! Oh and does Target have some darling stuff on their shelves right now.
The rest of the day, involved Coopers T-ball game, a baby shower for her good friend, and then home to this!
A FIRE!
A Greaves family favorite!
We roasted marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers, you know smores!
Cooper is a fan!
.
It was raining a little bit of rain drops and a little bit of fire!

There is something soothing about a fire!
A picture before the smoke got so bad!
I love Cooper running in the back ground!
We kept hearing sirens, and thought for sure someone called 911, because they saw FIRE!

It has been one fun filled day and we have 3 more!

The party just started!

(and we can party because of our freedom)

And I'm proud to be an American

where at least I know I'm free!

And I won't forget the men who died,

who gave that right to me!

Mother Teresa

I am no Mother Teresa, but I love her!
She has some really good things to say, that help me!
I am sorry if you want to read a great quote from her, you have to scroll down through the pictures.
You think that I would have uploading pictures to blogger down,
but each and every time, I have to think how to post things in order!
Don't think I have got it right yet!

This is a way cool vanity!

Look at that mirror!

Huge!
I hesitate painting this, because I don't want to ruin it!
Someone owned this and looked in that big mirror!
I wonder who they were and what their life was like?
I hope it was a great life and they were happy!

I can't believe I am putting this picture on here, but hey this is real life!
Not only can I not figure out how to use blogger,
I am never sure how to take a picture of a mirror!
I have one eye closed trying to take the picture!
QUOTE
People are often unreasonable, illogical
forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish,
ulterior motives; be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and
some true friends; succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building,
someone could destroy overnight; build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
do good anyway.
Give the world your best anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God;
it was never between you and them anyway.

Sweet

I am not the only one who thinks he's cute!
Jay went on a fishing trip for the weekend and
Jake gave me a dinner date with him for Mothers day.
(I think my kids all know my favorite thing to do is go to lunch or dinner with them!}
So with Jay gone, it was the perfect time to go, plus we were starving!
We went to Texas Road House, and did I say we were hungry?
They told us it would be 20 minutes, well 40 minutes later, we are starting to notice everyone who came in after us had already been seated. I went and asked the Hostess and she said they would get us right in, and our # came up quick! We were asked to stand to the side while they got our table ready.
We waited and waited and finally they came and took the people behind us. The kind people said we were first, so the girl went to the Hostess and came back and told the other couple, she was to take them.
By now, hungry Jake was about to steal the yummy rolls that kept going by us.
Finally we were seated by a cute bubbly girl who wanted to chit chat - we were too hungry.
She asked how long it had been since we had been to Texas Road House, and I said a while and it might be a while before we came back - kidding!
Jake said," I think we should get a free dessert."
We sat down and the manager appeared and said, "Hello."
We both just looked at her and she said, "Did you want to see me?"
I said, "No"
Jake said we should get a free desert for being overlooked.
For two people who are the least confrontational ever, this was a BIG deal.
That was the best free dessert ever!
Ha ha, we had no silverware either!
The waitress asked Jake is he was single or had a girlfriend? She was a wee bit embarrassed, she said it was for another server!
Jake said "yes he was single, and no he didn't have a girlfriend."
(I secretly thought it was for her)
As we were walking out a cute girl was blocking our way and handed Jake a piece of paper with her name and number and said this was for him, and it was her who had asked.
Jake smiled, blushed and said your quite bold, I think I like it!
And to think he was with his Mother!
I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS HE IS CUTE!
if she only knew how sweet he was too!

Lots of Love!

This was a BIG day for Cooper!
He graduated from preschool, and may I say with honors!!!
Erin will post some cute pictures on her blog, but I just want to say....
How proud I am of Cooper!
~I really really LOVE this boy!~
Here is the before again, and not bad,
Jay said to me, "You are not going to paint this are you?"
Yes, I am!
LOVE!

Every time I paint something, it is my new favorite and I want to keep it and remodel my whole house!

They don't make furniture like they use to.
This cabinet is solid wood, heavy and beautiful detail!

It's my new favorite.
Until I paint something else!

The color is green water, valspar brand from Lowes.
I bought a 7.7 fl oz. sample, I wasn't sure I was going to like it.
I know the color is green water, but it is the prettiest blue I have ever seen!
I also have 1/2 can left to paint something else!
This web site is where the color idea came from!

More Love!
Last night I went to a dance at the Weber State University Stake.
I didn't dance I watched the kids dance, and served food!
It's my calling, Relief Society advisor to a singles ward and I LOVE it!
I love the Kids and the people I serve with!

Reduce Reuse Recycle! More painted furniture!

The sun won't shine for two days in a row! In between rain storms, I am trying to plant flowers and paint furniture!
I Love out door benches, but have never liked the price.
Except this one!
I went to Wangsgards to do my grocery shopping and came home with a bench!
$49.99
Score! Here it is with cute Jake!
Here it is with out Jake!
Things are just things!
~It is the people that are important~

Close up of the latest & greatest project

another closeup

know what it is?

Ta Da!
My favorite so far!

Have you been to the paint stores and there are a bazillion colors of white?
My favorite is Behr Bleached Linen!
This dresser and nightstand is heavy solid wood, with a laminate top!
Uhg -so I use Zinsser oil base primer!
Then the bleached linen latex paint (water base)
I distress the edges
(a little trick - use a clean paint brush to brush off, after using sand paper to distress it - it works wonders in the crevices!)

Then finish it off with miniwax wipe-on poly!
Alot of steps, I know - but it finishes it off nice!

FYI
when I use oil base primer, I throw the paint brush away, I hate the cleanup!
Lazy!

Another Project - twiner chair, almost!

Remember? This ugly duckling chair I bought for $14.99?
I honestly didn't know if I could reupholster it to look good!
It is easier than painting furniture, I used a lot of staples -I Love it!

I didn't take a good picture of it alone, but I made a pillow and a cork board. This picture shows the cool frame I bought from the DI. I spray painted it before I put the cork in it!

Yup, I found another chair, if you look close - it is a different color and has a different cushion!
It was $15.00

This is the fabric, I am going to use!
To die for!

I have a purse that has a flower like this on it, so I made one for this pillow!
I used felt and scraps, just to practice,
and it turned out pretty cute!
Oh, and I LOVE this time of year because of all the flowers!
These ones are from Paige & Phil!
Erin & Derek also gave me a hanging pot!
Lucky girl, I am!

Tramp Fun!

Help me up Coop!
No you catch me Mom!

You can't get me!

Oh Ya!

Take down!

Your so fun Mom!

I think of little Ethan Stacy that was murdered by his Step dad & Mom.
As an innocent helpless little boy, he should have been having fun on the Tramp. . .

He gave up the 350 Ford diesel long bed,
For a 150 Ford gas short bed,
